How to avoid ingrown hair

Every woman and man has problem with ingrown hairs, either on face, Chest, legs or even bikini-zone. This problem often occurs after waxing, specially during the summer months.

Ingrown hairs are under a thin layer of dead skin cells that cover the hair follicle and these cells do not allow the hair to break through the surface, which is why they seek their way under the skin.People often try to solve the problem, which usually worsens the situation.

DONT

Do not try to remove ingrown hairs using tweezers or a needle, which can scar and cause an infection.

Do not use any product that has alcohol, it will seriously worsen ingrown hairs by drying the skin and closing the pores.

Stay away from tight clothes. If you have gotten any type of body waxing then you want the skin to be able to 'breathe'.Tight clothes irritate freshly waxed areas also weeks later it can encourage the hair to grow back into the skin.

The best way to avoid ingrown hairs is to prevent them before they begin.

DO

Shaving

Take care of the direction in which dragging the blades. Shaving should go in the direction of hair growth, not vice versa. Also, the razor should not damage the skin, and find the ones that have protection over the edge. Use a shaving gel instead of cream because it reduces the possibility of damage to the surface layer of the skin.

Waxing

After waxing, or any other method used to remove hair from the root, It is important to apply a skin tranquilizer (skin relax cream) like aloe vera gel.

Exfoliate before and after. Exfoliating lightly with a luffa or other mild exfoliator before Waxing helps remove dead skin cells allowing a better and an easier wax.Gently exfoliating a day after the wax and continuing to do so, a couple times a week depending on your skin and hair type type will help keep dead skin cells out of the follicle. When the hair does start coming back, this helps it pointing up instead of going back into the skin.

In the shower is recommended to use massage gloves, especially for legs and bikini-zone. You can buy in drug stores Anti ingrowing hair cream, so this could be solution for a smooth and velvety skin too.

At the ingrown hair area, three times a day for 10 minutes hold a warm compress of the tea. Your skin softened and hairs will easier “walked” out.
